BeachBows Conclude Extended Road Trip With Big West Challenge

by Staff

The No. 12 University of Hawai’i Rainbow Wahine beach volleyball team wraps up a 12-match road trip with the Big West Challenge, March 22-24, in North California.

The Rainbow Wahine (9-8) will take on six Big West opponents over the span of three days in a prelude to the Big West Championship late next month in Long Beach. All six matches will be played on the campuses of UC Davis and Sacramento State.

UH has already faced nine Top 10 opponents this year, and two more await the ‘Bows this weekend. UH will face No. 7 Long Beach State on Saturday March 23 and No. 9 Cal Poly to conclude the tournament on Sunday, March 24. It will be the first time UH will face the squads since they each upset the ‘Bows in last year’s Big West Championship in Honolulu.

The ‘Bows have already played six matches on the road since last Friday, March 15. UH went 2-2 at the East Meets West Invitational in Manhattan Beach last weekend, before splitting a pair of matches versus Concordia University Irvine and top-ranked USC on Tuesday.
