There is no better time to book a cosy staycation than the thick of winter, when prices are lower and everyone is in need of a pick-me-up.

With most Scots being back at work and unable to book a lengthy holiday, an overnight stay in a cosy bed and breakfast is the perfect way to get out of the house for a little while and see some of Scotland’s spectacular scenery while you are at it.




Unsurprisingly, the country is not short of amazing inns and guest houses offering up snug rooms and delicious breakfasts. However, with all of that choice comes the difficulty of deciding where to head.

Fortunately, online travel website Booking.com has shared a list of the 10 Best Scotland Bed and Breakfasts. From luxurious city breaks to tranquil spots in the far north of the country, there are B&Bs to suit everybody’s tastes in the roundup.

Anybody looking to spend a quiet night in one of Scotland’s most scenic towns can’t go wrong with The Waterfront, located only a few steps from Anstruther’s harbour and marina. Looking inside, the B&B offers contemporarily decorated rooms, an à la carte restaurant, and even shortbread and fresh flowers on arrival.
