Sri Lanka Taxi Charter Service International Limited (SLTCS Ltd.) has rolled out a new charter service that pairs European visitors with licensed Tourist Drivers and private, air-conditioned vehicles for customised travel across Sri Lanka.
The offering provides structured, pre-quoted itineraries, helping guests avoid uncertainties linked to informal transport. Each enquiry receives a written quote and a vehicle assigned according to group size and travel priorities.
“Building on our proven track record serving Japanese travelers, we are entering the United Kingdom market. By providing licensed tour drivers who meet the exacting standards of Japanese guests, we will make a trip to Sri Lanka exceptional.” said a spokesperson.
English-speaking drivers are standard, while additional language support—including Japanese—can be arranged on request.
Available vehicle categories cover individuals through to larger family groups, with private vans available for 4–9 travellers. All vehicles are air-conditioned. Child seats can be arranged when provided with the child’s size information.
The reservation process consists of three steps: travellers submit their date and group details; SLTCS provides a suggested itinerary and clear pricing; confirmation finalises the booking. Driver and vehicle information is shared before travel, allowing smooth coordination via WhatsApp or similar.
The company notes that its pricing aims to remain competitively positioned and often around 30% below that of major agencies offering comparable arrangements, with each journey priced individually.
High season spans December to March, and advance enquiries are encouraged. Due to demand, charters shorter than four days are not currently available.
The payment structure separates the Agency Service Fee (paid online through a secure processor) from the Driver Fare (paid directly to the driver, typically in Sri Lankan Rupees). SLTCS acts as an intermediary only, and Agency Service Fee refunds are permitted up to seven days prior to departure.
Drivers assist travellers with the practical flow of each day—timing, rest points, meal suggestions and itinerary adjustments. For in-depth cultural commentary, national or site-certified guides can be added. For activities such as whale-watching or safaris, SLTCS refers trusted partners and integrates timings, while travellers settle tickets directly.
The service is also suitable for business travel, including route planning and invoicing.
For late-night flights, SLTCS advises on the safest and most reasonable onward transfer options, confirming any cost implications in advance.
