Sun-soaked holiday to Turkey with a near-perfect five-star Tripadvisor rating that costs £284 less per couple than Jet2

When looking for a holiday, many penny pinching brits will look to providers like Jet2,TUI and Ryanair for the best deal. However, we have found a website that costs hundreds of pounds less than budget-friendly Jet2 for some sun-soaked holidays.

Travel Republic’s huge payday sale has seen holidays to the likes of Spain and Mauritius slashed. The massive sale offers discounts on both flights and hotel stays – with those to Turkey amongst some of the most popular.

The stunning city of Marmaris in Dalaman, Turkiye (formerly spelt Turkey), is an ideal destination with its endless sunshine and resident turtles. You can book a stay at the three-star Sebnem Apartments (which has a 4. 5 rating from 432 reviews on Tripadvisor) through Travel Republic for seven days starting May 1, The cost is £402 for two people, or £201 per person. When we checked Jet2 for the same dates, it was £343 per person – that’s a saving of £142 for one, or £284 for two people (Prices are accurate as of March 1, 2024).

Besides sunbathing and enjoying the sunshine, there’s loads to do in the lovely city of Turkiye. The beach is known as the “Turquoise Coast” and it’s really pretty, especially the main Downtown beach.

But if you go a short drive, just 15 minutes from the centre of Marmaris, you’ll find Icon Beach with amazing views and it’s not too crowded. You can see turtles and have fun in mud baths too.

Highlights include the Dalyan River Cruise, Turtle Beach and Mud Baths, which has great reviews (182 4.5-star ratings), it will cost you £26. 09. You’ll be picked up from your hotel, enjoy an included lunch, and return travel as part of the excursion. Mud baths are good for relaxing and making you feel less stressed.

Turtle Beach is described as a “special place where salt water and fresh water meet”. If you’re lucky, in the sea you might spot big Loggerhead Turtles swimming around. There’s also the famous ancient Caunos Tombs of the Kings in Dalyan. The UNESCO World Heritage site is a stunning display of ancient architecture, with the tombs along the Dalyan River carved directly into the cliffside.
