The India-Maldives row is in the news after few Maldivian ministers commented against PM Narendra Modi for his posts on his recent trip to Lakshadweep. While many celebrities have spoken out in support of the country, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein actress Aditi Bhatia has faced criticism for sharing pictures of her recent trip to Maldives. The actress shared a series of images and videos from Maldives and netizens aren’t quite happy with it.

Aditi Bhatia got trolled amid the ongoing row with the Maldives. She took to her Instagram account to share some photos from her vacation to the island nation. She had visited the Maldives in December. However, the posts quickly escalated into a heated online debate as they coincided with the ongoing controversy with Maldives.

Many users made it to the comment section and threw hate at her. In the photos, she can be seen chilling at the beach and enjoying good food. In one of the images she can be seen sitting by the beach and posing for the camera. Another images showed how she was enjoying the drinks.

A user wrote, “No Maldives, Only Lakshadweep, while another added, “Lakshadweep ki taraf rukh kariye”. “Tumko mana kiya tha naa Maldives jaane se”, read another comment. Some of the other comments read, “and people like her call themselves influencers, wtf is wrong with them,” “wait what? I don’t understand this at all all stupidity,” “this is called being an influencer without understanding your power on social media.”

Talking about the Maldives-India row, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had recently shared pictures of himself from Lakshadweep where he was seen vacationing. Three Maldivian ministers made negative remarks against it suggesting that the PM’s post aimed to promote Lakshadweep as an alternative tourist destination to the Maldives. Meanwhile, the government of Maldives issued a statement distancing itself from the controversy.
