After having its home opener last weekend, it’s back to the road this week for the Yavapai College softball team where the Roughriders will take on the Paradise Valley Community College Pumas and No. 14-ranked Phoenix College Bears.

The Games
YC and PVCC will play their doubleheader on Tuesday, March 5, at noon in Phoenix. After a few off days, YC travels to Phoenix once more for a doubleheader with the Bears on Saturday, March 9, with game one also set for a noon start. The Pumas
Paradise Valley is 0-4 overall and in conference play to begin the 2024 season and was swept by Central on the road last time out.
The Bears
Phoenix brings a No. 14 ranking into its matchup with YC with an overall record of 11-4 and conference record of 4-0. Before hosting the Roughriders, the Bears will travel to Scottsdale for a doubleheader.
PC and YC matched up earlier this season in Phoenix where the Bears won both games with scores of 6-3 and 9-1.
The Roughriders
Last weekend, YC emerged victorious in game one of its home and conference opener with a lopsided 19-4 win over Scottsdale, before falling 7-6 in game two. On the season, the Roughriders are 1-1 in conference play with an overall record of 1-8.
Player To Watch
Sophomore infielder Torie Au has been tearing the cover off of the softball for YC all season. She is currently hitting .538 with five homers, 14 RBIs and 11 runs scored.
One Last Thing
In the all-time series with PVCC, Yavapai is 46-4 and in the all-time series with PC, Yavapai is 19-39.
