Brits looking for a good value holiday this year can find one from a tiny £4 a night – and it even comes with a JD Wetherspoon on site so you can get cheap drinks and meals. Last year, holiday parks Haven announced it was partnering with the pub chain to bring low cost food and drink to one of its camps.
While staycations here in Britain have become more popular since the pandemic caused UK residents to explore our own country a bit more they can be expensive. Some UK hotels and towns can cost a fortune – way more than cheap destinations in Spain, Greece and Turkey.
Thankfully, Haven is at the forefront of cheap UK staycations and has installed a Wetherspoon in its Primrose Valley camp in North Yorkshire. The pub will open in March after an exclusive contract was signed between the holiday camp and pub chains – and it means you’ll be able to get a beer for a bargain at the site rather than paying a premium.

Reports claim that additional Wetherspoon pubs will open in more Haven parks, but the details have not yet been announced. The initial pub apparently has space for a whopping 250 holidaymakers and will sit alongside other big chains like Burger King and Papa Johns.
In an announcement, Haven said: “The first Wetherspoon pub will open at Haven Primrose Valley Holiday Park in North Yorkshire, with the first pint to be pulled in March ahead of what is expected to be a busy summer.” The pub will apparently have its own unique name and carpet design.
Peter Blake, Chief Operating Officer at Haven, said: “We are thrilled to be the first holiday provider to partner with one of the UK’s leading and much-loved pub operators. This new venture underlines our dedication to growing our food and beverage partnerships and offering for our holidaymakers and holiday homeowners.”
Michael Barron, Commercial Director of Wetherspoons, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Haven and are confident that the pub will prove popular with holidaymakers.” Wetherspoons is known up and down the country for having some of the cheapest pints and food around. You can usually score a pint and a main meal for around £10 – and if you choose a soft drink it’s even cheaper. Some dishes cost just £6 even with an alcoholic beverage – which is excellent considering you’d only get a pint for that price in some other venues.
It’s not just cheap food and drinks that will pull Brits towards the Yorkshire holiday spot. Primrose valley has a heated indoor adventure pool as well as a lakeside outdoor pool too. Holidaymakers will benefit from beach access to a bay with golden sand and below the park. There’s plenty of space for games and sandcastles on the wide beach!
There are plenty of local seaside towns nearby too where guests can go and enjoy the shops, fish and chips and traditional pastimes. These include the Hunmanby Gap, with Filey, Scarborough and Bridlington. In the park there are a number of entertainment venues as well as the Lakehouse which has a dog-friendly area so you can dine alongside your pooch. The lake also offers water sports like kayaks, pedalos and other water-based fun!

The Haven park has an arcade filled with games to entertain children plus foot golf, an aerial adventure for those who aren’t afraid of heights, archery lessons, pottery painting and den building. There are also animal petting zoos nearby and the incredible Flamingo Land theme park. The park even has a NERF training camp, bungee trampolines, a Costa coffee cart and an inflatable arena is coming soon where kids can run through obstacles to get to the end of the course.
