MATTA FAIR: TOURISM SELANGOR OFFERS 17 TOURIST ATTRACTIONS, UP TO 50 PCT DISCOUNTS

SHAH ALAM, March 20 (Bernama) — In line its target of reaching seven million tourists in conjunction with Visit Selangor Year 2025, Tourism Selangor is ready to offer the best tourism products at the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) Fair which begins on Friday (March 22).

Tourism Selangor said in a statement that the agency will offer 17 attractions throughout the state, with discounts of up to 50 per cent for theme parks, resorts, and ecotourism and agrotourism attractions.

It said the two-day fair, taking place at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) in Kuala Lumpur, aims to attract over 25,000 visitors.

“With the theme of ‘Jom Balik Kampung’, the Selangor Pavilion will recreate the atmosphere of the Sekinchan paddy fields in the heart of the bustling city of Kuala Lumpur.

This year the fair will focus on Selangor’s northern area, with Sabak Bernam and Kuala Selangor expected to attract visitors,” said the statement.

Among the tourist attractions are the Selangor Hop-On-Off tour bus, Rumah Hutan Terapi Alam, GL Play, Chocolate Museum, Hotel Eastin, Avani Sepang Goldcoast Resort and Jump Street Asia.

Other attractions are Farm in the City, Sky Mirror, Farm Fresh @ UPM, Selangor Fruit Valley, Wet World Shah Alam, KSL Esplanade Hotel, Cyberview Resort & Spa and Nur Lembah Pangsun Eco Resort.

The statement said there will be performances of ‘Wau Kapal Selangor’ and demonstrations of Heritaste pounded peanut candy which is to promote small and medium industries which plays an important role in the Selangor’s economic sector, the statement said, adding that Jungle School Gombak will also be at the fair.

According to the agency, the tourism attractions offered are the best in Selangor ranging from theme parks, resorts to innovative agrotourism ventures.

In line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), this year’s theme emphasises the importance of local and community tourism products in Selangor, the statement added.
